Youth Cycling Team
Track Cats’ mission is to introduce youth who are already drawn to track bikes to the velodrome, increase the diversity of track cycling—particularly by uplifting Black youth and girls—and grow ridership at the velodrome. Track Cats aims to develop the confidence and community that young Chicagoans need in order to thrive both on and off the bike.
Are you between the age of 12-22, enjoy riding your bike, and love to go as fast as you possibly can? Track Cycling may be the sport for you! Through Track Cats we provide you with the opportunity to become the best, and fastest cyclist you can be! We offer training programs, group rides, clinics, transportation, and a race team for you to Race under, along with team jerseys!
We will be mainly racing at Ed Rudolph Velodrome Thursday nights throughout the summer, attending Monday Night clinics, and having some clinics of our own. Each Thursday night of racing provides you with three races to race against your peers, and have fun! You can also get involved in Time trials and compete against yourself to get the Fastest times in varying distances, along with team and individual pursuits!

We are a group of experienced track cyclists, coaches and youth advocates actively working to grow the sport of track cycling and lower the barriers of entry for a diverse range of youth cyclists of chicago.
How will we reach the intended community?
By utilizing some of the spaces already in place for youth like Bikes N Roses, Working Bikes, and Blackstone Bikes to further Youth knowledge of the sport, and give them an opportunity to join the team. We will also be utilizing Social media for outreach, trying to meet youth where they are at.
What we Offer?
We will provide a coaching plan, training sessions, transportation to/from Ed Rudolph Velodrome for Thursday night races, clinics, training, and the occasional Saturday time trial. We will also provide a healthy meal for youth participants, and provide accountability and encouragement via discord channel to offer support.
We will also provide participants with bibs, jerseys, equipment, and cover race and clinic fees.
How you can Support
We always need financial support and sponsorships, on occasions we do need volunteers for transportation, and other tasks. Please feel free to reach out to us to find out more about opportunities! trackcatschi@gmail.com
